About UsH&R Mfg. and Supply was founded in 1980 by president Harvey Hivnor in Willis just north of Houston, Texas. Their 30,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility is air conditioned and air-cleaned, and houses manufacturing cells designed for the efficient machining of specific workholding parts. H&R’s products are manufactured, inventoried and then sold by distributors and industrial supply companies. Forty percent of the manufacturing is special order or custom manufactured parts in the area of workholding. Repair and reconditioning of chucks of all types and steady rests is a part of the service program. A total of 170 machines sit on the shop floor, many of which are the company’s own custom-built machines. The overall operational goal is to reduce handling time and second operations, and H&R Mfg. and Supply has been able to reduce cycle time for some parts from three hours to 30 minutes.
